IPS-Pro (Evolving IPS technology)
The IPS (In-Plane-Switching) is a LC mode that provides a clear view as though looking from an angle. It is able to display an image that can be naturally viewed from all directions with a wide viewing angle and fixed color tones from any angle, as well as at any color scale, as the liquid crystal molecules simply rotate along the plane. In particular, the IPS-Pro, an IPS product improved for TVs, has the best performance in the world, such as time and a half transmittance and three times contrast ratio if compared to conventional products.
The IPS liquid crystal technology was unveiled in 1995 and was put to practical use in 1996 by Hitachi, Ltd. Since then, it has evolved into Super-IPS and Advanced-Super IPS through to IPS-Pro.

Overview
IPS has a wide viewing angle in principle, as the liquid crystal molecules simply rotate along the plane. It is therefore able to display an image that can be naturally viewed from all directions.
Feature
The IPS technology was put to practical use in 1996. The IPS-Pro technology has improved permeability approx. 1.5 times, and contrast ratio by approx. 3 times. It thus offers a world-best performance.
